Manchester United can invite Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford next summer, when the Ajax strategist claims he is ready for the next step in his career.
The 51-year-old Dutch military leader is a strong candidate to assume the position of long-term head coach MU, after Ralf Rangnick’s interim period ends in the summer of 2022.
Refusing to leave Ajax midway through the season, but Erik Ten Hag has just confirmed to the media that he wants to challenge himself at a team outside the Netherlands next year.

Some sources inside the Old Trafford team said that MU leaders will approach to invite Ten Hag in case of failure to convince Mauricio Pochettino to leave PSG.
Erik Ten Hag has received many compliments since leading Ajax at the end of 2017, helping the traditional team win the Dutch league twice and win two National Cups.
He also made a mark in bringing Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League 2019, after defeating formidable opponents like Juventus or Real Madrid.
Discussing his future with De Volkskrant, Ten Hag said: “I am ready to move to a top club.
I would happily accept the challenge, but not by any means pursue it. I think I’m qualified to take on a new challenge.”
Ajax leadership will also not stop Ten Hag if he decides to leave at the end of the 2021/22 season.
